Who is Michael B. Moore?Michael B. Moore is a proven leader with a deep commitment to public service. He has a long track record of driving results in both large corporations and smaller entrepreneurial environments. He was the Founding CEO and President of the International African American Museum in Charleston and has been an enthusiastic family spokesperson. Michael is married and the father of four sons.

What are Michael's priorities?Michael's priorities include fighting for a strong and inclusive economy that benefits everyone, ensuring access to quality and affordable healthcare - including women's reproductive services, and providing high-performing public education for every child. He is also dedicated to protecting Social Security and Medicare, the environment, and of course preserving the integrity of American democracy.

He is driven by a deep desire to bring a results-driven and collaborative spirit to Washington and to contribute to his community, state, and country.

What is Michael's family legacy of public service?Michael comes from a long line of public servants, including his great, great grandfather, Robert Smalls, who commandeered a Confederate ship in Charleston harbor while enslaved and went on to serve in the SC legislature and in the US House of Representatives. Michael's family has contributed to the community, state, and country in a variety of ways, including noteworthy South Carolinians such as The Honorable Samuel J. Bampfield, Judge Harold Boulware, Dr. C.E. Boulware, and Philippe Noisette.

What are some of Michael's accomplishments?Michael was named to Charleston Business Magazine’s '50 Most Influential' list. He received an honorary Doctorate in Public History degree from Dickinson College. The City of Charleston honored him with "Michael Boulware Moore Day" in July 2019.
